Winning the $50,000 SimpleGenerosity grant from Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union and Enderby & District Financial, a division of First West CU would help build a One to One children’s literacy program in Kelowna. Teachers would be able identify students that need a boost in their literacy skills and refer them to One To One - trained volunteer tutors provide children with an opportunity to practice their reading in an environment where it is okay to take risks, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace.
