Merritt, British ColumbiaInterior SavingsWhy I volunteered here:
Why I volunteered here: It's an amazing cause to raise awareness for people who deal with homelessness and need of shelter. The funds raised went to a local shelter that provides for people in need, and it was such an impactful experience.
Why I volunteered here: I'm passionate about supporting the H&S Foundation because of a personal connection, losing my Grandfather to a heart attack. I feel strongly about supporting the research that the H&S Foundation does.
Why I volunteered here: It means a great deal to me to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation, as heart disease affects my family and so many others. I really enjoy rallying people up to participate and having fun for such a great cause.

Why I volunteered here: This was our annual Day of Difference contribution with Merritt ISCU. The Cold Weather Shelter is run by volunteers, and provides a place to sleep for homeless community members when the weather drops.
Why I volunteered here: I became involved with the Arts Council while trying to plan a Fred Penner concert in Merritt for Canada 150. They took me under their wing and have been so helpful, and I was excited to be invited to join the new MAC and be more involved.
Why I volunteered here: The Mountain Biking Association puts on an annual biking race in the mountains surrounding Merritt. They put so much time and effort into the event, and people travel from as far as Vancouver to participate. I think it's an amazing event!
Impact: Teaching youth about financial literacy through a simple yet fun game
Why I volunteered here: The Merritt Country Music Hall of Fame is run by volunteers who spend their time hanging out and welcoming visitors and showing them around. It is because of them that the Hall of Fame can remain open for people to experience.
Why I volunteered here: The City organized a committee to help promote and champion the celebration of Canada's 150th birthday in 2017. It's an exciting thing to see the community get involved in making it a big celebration.
