Community impact grants reach $48,000
First West Foundation is thrilled to announce four impact grants totaling $48,000 from the Enderby Financial Community Endowment are making their way to deserving Enderby charities. Impact grants are unrestricted funds, designed to support operational needs, programs or service delivery. A $15,000 grant to Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society helps young children maintain and grow their reading skills throughout the summer months. One young reader arrived in the program anxious, stressed and struggling during the first week. Two weeks later his confidence had grown along with his excitement "I didn't know I like reading" he said.2025 marks a milestone year for the Foundation as it grants a total of $2,278,326, the equivalent of a 12% disbursement rate, through its 18 endowments to charities across British Columbia.
