Wow, it was an inspiring night at last week’s 2024 Surrey Civic Distinction Awards.
Congratulations to Dr. Kathleen Burke, recognized with the Local Capacity Builder award representing our Community Leaders Igniting Change (CLIC) program. A partnership with Envision Financial, SFU Surrey, and the Surrey Poverty Reduction Coalition, CLIC empowers community-minded individuals to chase their leadership goals.
Also recognized with an award were three CLIC alumni--Maria Koehn (cohort 9) with the Impactful Placemaking Project Award for the Cloverdale Murals Project; Dacious Richardson (cohort 5) with the Mayor’s Choice/Individual Award; and Kyla Painter (cohort 2) with the Mayor’s Choice Award/Community Group or Non-Profit for Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association. Congratulations to all for their accomplishments and thank you for your commitment to strengthening our community!
