Integris Joins in Celebrating Punjabi Culture in Prince George!

Integris Credit Union and Integris Financial Planning were proud to support the PG Annual Punjabi Cultural Event Association community's 40th annual cultural event in Prince George, held from July 13th to 14th, 2024 at the PGSS field. This event celebrated sportsmanship, competition, community pride, and inclusivity by bringing together a diverse group of participants and spectators of all ages for a weekend of fun and camaraderie.
As supporters of this event, Integris provided essential funding for the beverage budget to ensure that competitors and spectators stayed hydrated during the warm weather. Our commitment to this community event underscores our dedication to fostering unity and celebrating cultural diversity in Prince George.
The cultural event featured a wide range of activities, ensuring that everyone, from sports enthusiasts to those who prefer more relaxed fun, had an opportunity to participate and enjoy the festivities. Soccer, volleyball, tug of war, and track events were just a few of the options. The traditional Indian/Punjabi game "Kabaddi" was the main attraction, showcasing local and western Canadian teams competing for a generous cash prize. Additionally, non-traditional events such as musical chairs, three-legged races, and seniors' races added to the inclusive spirit of the event.
We were thrilled to see the community come together, with free food and beverages, door prizes, bouncy castles, and a water slide adding to the celebratory atmosphere. This event, entirely free to attend and participate in, was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the PG Annual Punjabi Cultural Event Association, which has been organizing sponsorships from local businesses and community members since 2009. At Integris, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting events that bring people together. The Punjabi community's annual cultural event is a shining example of how collective effort and sponsorship can create a vibrant and inclusive celebration.
The 40th annual cultural event was a tremendous success, with warm weather, enthusiastic participation, and a strong sense of community making it a memorable weekend for all. We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing our support for this cherished tradition. We anticipate celebrating many more years of cultural richness and community spirit in Prince George.
