Today we introduce you to Take a Hike Foundation (TAH), a first-time Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union Community Endowment grantee in 2020, TAH is now a multi-year grantee, with 13 grants received, totaling $186,550 through 2025, thanks to multi-year funding and our commitment to trust-based philanthropy.
Take a Hike Foundation is a leader in providing early intervention, prevention mental health support in partnership with public school districts. Their mission is to empower vulnerable youth with the skills and resilience they need to graduate high school, build healthy relationships and achieve success, however they define it.
Currently in year one of a two-year, $45,000 commitment through the Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union, Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union and Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union Community Endowments, Take a Hike Foundation is making a difference in the lives of youth aged 15-18 across British Columbia.
First West Foundation is committed to contributing to efforts and impacts through the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We applaud TAH’s mission and their alignment to good health and well being and quality education, SDGs three and four.
