We will be sharing some of our new 2023 grantee stories very soon, you don’t want to miss out! Until then, we’re delighted to introduce you to Care for Women Foundation, a new charity established in 2020 serving the Fraser Valley and a recipient of a $15,000 Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union Community Endowment grant last year.
Until recently, Care for Women Foundation was a fully volunteer driven charity whose support for 36 families skyrocketed to 86 in just one year. Both co-executive directors are volunteer positions and they’ve since hired a part-time program coordinator and operations assistant. Their volunteers have doubled, too with 100 women committed to caring for Moms and their babies.
Pregnant women overwhelmed, isolated or alone in the Fraser Valley can apply to the Care for Women Outreach program where a mother is matched with a mentor six weeks before their due date. From one-to-one mentorship to transportation, prepared meals and professional cleaning services and referrals to community resources, all services are offered free of charge through a mighty team of screened and trained volunteers whose generosity make this community-based program hum.
We say thank you to Care for Women Foundation for providing guidance, courage, friendship and confidence to new mothers through community and relationship.
