Impact Follow-up
We had the opportunity to donate 30 gallons of paint to Willard Monson House, an AFM facility in Ste Rose, MB. We were fortunate to have a tour to see the improvements to the 100-year-old building. The insights revealed an incredibly dedicated group of individuals that knew the freshly painted surrounding would improve the experience of people recovering from addictions and keep it looking like a home rather than a facility. We wanted to help bring awareness with the Art Show - incredibly moving
Community Nee
Substance Use and Addictions awareness within the community. The Coop support allowed us to provide a meal and bridge gaps for individuals who wouldn't normally connect with services.
Local Co-op Support:
Our committee is very small with minimal funding. This support allowed us to put on an event that we would never have been able to provide.
How You Can Help:
The event was not as well attended as we hoped. We hope to be able to create awareness about substance use and reduce stigma that those living with substance use disorders have. Our hope is to have the greater community (city, businesses, agencies) realize that this is an issue that needs attention from all sectors. We aim for more involvement from the city and businesses like Co-op. Just raising that awareness and having more people involved can help in our goals.
