Stories of our community involvement
We are back to holding Fundraiser BBQs! Great success at Equity Days in Dauphin and Ste Rose.
Tinkerbell Nursery School raised almost $1,100, Parkland Rugby raised almost $900, and Charlie Brown Daycare earned just over $1,000. It may be a very busy BBQ to work for a few hours but it is very worthwhile!
We are so proud to support local non-profits to raise much needed funds.
Dauphin Co-op supports its Team Members that volunteer in the community with a quarterly draw for a $500 donation to a charity of one's choice. The first quarterly winner is Murray Lennartz.
Murray works at our Mountain Road Co-op Gas Bar and volunteers for Dauphin & District Snowmobile Club. The Club had been wanting to make a donation to the Parkland Ukrainian Family Fund and were trying to figure out a way to do it while being a non-profit. Murray winning the $500 donation worked out perfectly. It was donated to the fund to help support the families from Ukraine on behalf of the Snowmobile Club.
Murray said he puts in so many hours with the club because of the kids. He wants to ensure there are safe trails for snowmobilers for future generations. We are so proud of Murray!
Dauphin Co-op is pleased to support the Parkland Ukrainian Family Fund with $24,100 for food and fuel to support Ukrainian families forced to flee their homes in Ukraine as they relocate in the Dauphin, MB area.
A huge Thank You to everyone that showed up for the Dauphin Kings Tailgate party recently!
We raised $600 at the Tailgate BBQ for the Dauphin Kings!
We know how important the MJHL hockey team is to our community and to all the aspiring youth players on teams in our area and we are so proud to participate in the festivities.

Community Need:

We were able to provide healthy food options with the freshest ingredients to our athletes while they played badminton.

Local Co-op Support:

Co-op was generous enough to donate both food and water to the badminton tournament held at Ethelbert School on April 9th, 2022. It was a great turn out with 6 school participating running from 10am-8pm. The food and water provided and sold through our canteen gave our athletes a healthy food alternative during their downtime, which allowed them to re-energize and put their best performance forward. This canteen was run by Ethelbert's Sustainable Tourism class, with the proceeds going towards their year end tourism trip. All parents, students and staff in attendance were so grateful for the generous donation that Co-op gave our school and the opportunities it created for our tourism students. We hope to be able to partner with them again in the future as it was such a great experience!

How You Can Help:

You may recognize Jason, our Ste Rose Home Centre Manager. He has been busy making some special deliveries to Ste Rose School and Charlie Brown Daycare.
He was especially surprised to be greeted by a prince and princesses during his visit!
We were delighted to get this great photo of the Forever Fun Dance Group members as a Thank You for supporting their activity.
After a long break during the pandemic - they are happy to be back together at the Watson Art Centre to share the good times and create new memories!
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community members - $12,200 in donations is going to Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal!

We are proud to announce that we are accepting donations at all Co-op locations in Dauphin and Ste Rose March 8-14.
Dauphin Co-op will match the first $5K donated with all funds going to Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.
We are proud to be a part of Federated Co-operatives Ltd. 's $100,000 donation to this cause. Please make a donation if you are able to.

Impact Follow-up

We had the opportunity to donate 30 gallons of paint to Willard Monson House, an AFM facility in Ste Rose, MB. We were fortunate to have a tour to see the improvements to the 100-year-old building. The insights revealed an incredibly dedicated group of individuals that knew the freshly painted surrounding would improve the experience of people recovering from addictions and keep it looking like a home rather than a facility. We wanted to help bring awareness with the Art Show - incredibly moving

Community Need:

Substance Use and Addictions awareness within the community. The Coop support allowed us to provide a meal and bridge gaps for individuals who wouldn't normally connect with services.

Local Co-op Support:

Our committee is very small with minimal funding. This support allowed us to put on an event that we would never have been able to provide.

How You Can Help:

The event was not as well attended as we hoped. We hope to be able to create awareness about substance use and reduce stigma that those living with substance use disorders have. Our hope is to have the greater community (city, businesses, agencies) realize that this is an issue that needs attention from all sectors. We aim for more involvement from the city and businesses like Co-op. Just raising that awareness and having more people involved can help in our goals.
We're committed to giving back to the community!
