Elin Marley

What is your role at Northern Birch Credit Union?

Member Service Representative

What do you like most about working at Northern Birch Credit Union?

I like that I get to speak Estonian at work every day and to work in the community I grew up in. I have enjoyed learning a lot since starting this job, and like that I learn something new every day.

What's your favourite restaurant or food?

So hard to choose! I love that in Toronto you can travel the world through food. One of my favourite spots near Eesti Maja is Ryus Noodle Bar. I also enjoy cooking and baking with whatever delicious produce is available at different times of year, whether from my own small garden or from the farmers' market.

Is there a community group or organization that's near and dear to your heart?

Kungla folkdance group has been a huge part of my life since childhood. Folkdancing always puts a smile on my face and energizes me. I am so thankful that my parents got me dancing at a young age, and that I have been able to pass my love of dance along by teaching the Kungla children's group and at Estonian School.

What's on your bucket list?

I dream of doing a long cabin-to-cabin hike with only a small backpack, though I haven't quite yet decided where. I also dream of having a big food garden of my own.

How do you like to spend your weekends and free time?

In nature - hiking, biking, swimming, gardening, and seeing what cool plants, bugs and animals I find.
