Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union is proud to announce this month’s #SimpleGenerosity Volunteer Award recipient, Arianna Almeida.

In 2019, Arianna started the Girls Can Talk Society- a BC student-led non-profit organization that creates a space for girls and young women to talk about mental health, feminism, and leadership. Arianna spearheaded the development and organization of the non-profit in her community and it has since spread to a strong network involving secondary schools across BC.

“She has created a platform for youth to talk openly, find community, and engage as leaders in their own schools,” says Vanessa Gale, Team Lead of the Go Girls! Program with Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland. “Through this, she has worked with her team to fundraise for women's support organizations and give back to the community in a meaningful way.”

Through the Society’s youth run workshops and partnership with the Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, they hope to further support youth in their community by helping those transitioning from Elementary school to Secondary school.

Thank you for inspiring and empowering the next generation of women and congratulations on your award!
