Have you heard? We are excited to announce our partnership with the Heart & Stroke Foundation! As part of our commitment to create a safe and healthy environment for our employees and members, we believe it is important to have the necessary equipment and training in the event of a cardiac arrest. To honor this commitment, we recently installed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at every single First West location. Not only could this lifesaving equipment benefit our employees and members, it could also benefit the general public. Every AED is registered in the Public Access to Defibrillation (PAD) program. As a registered device, 911 operators will be able to inform callers of an AED located in a nearby First West location to possibly save a life. An AED is a person’s best chance of surviving a cardiac arrest and we are thrilled to be able to offer such a simple and safe device!

To generate some awareness around our new devices, we challenged our employees to find their location’s AED and snap a photo. For every photo staff post to our internal social media platform, First West has committed to donating $2 to the Heart & Stroke Foundation! So far 85 photos have been posted which means $170 raised for the Heart and Stroke. We can’t wait to see this partnership grow!
