What people are saying about us

Naomi Zingman-DanielsProject Northern Lights

BigSteelBox has partnered with Project Northern Lights to aid our 2020-2021 Winter COVID Relief Initiative, providing storage in 4 locations across Canada for PPE that will be used to protect marginalized and rural communities, including thousands of community members living in difficult-to-reach areas in the north of Canada. They were one of the first logistical partners to come on board and have allowed us to increase our efforts hugely during this crucial time. Thank you BigSteelBox!

Rachel WormsbecherNorthern Saskatchewan International Children's Festival

BigSteelBox has been an amazing supporter of the Festival! Ample space to store all our material is always an issue and can be incredibly pricy. Their support as a sponsor has really been a game-changer for us and I can't say enough about how professional and wonderful they are to deal with!

Cailey ArmstrongHUB Cycling

By providing storage for our bike fleet and equipment, BigSteelBox supported us in providing free cycling education through our Everyone Rides Grade 4-5 program to nearly 1700 Kelowna area students at 17 elementary schools over two seasons. Thank you BigSteelBox for your incredible support!

Stories of our community involvement
Cost keeps 1 in 3 Canadian children out of organized sports. We believe it's important for all kids to have the opportunity to play which is why we're grateful to be able to support Kidsport Regina to help cover sport registration and equipment costs so that all kids aged 18 and under can play a season of sport. Check out more about what they do at https://kidsportcanada.ca/saskatchewan/regina/
Thanks to everyone who donated to the Kamloops Food Bank Basics for Babies campaign. We were able to help them raise $63,000 and 2,000 lbs of baby product to help out those in need.
Last week we had the privilege of presenting a cheque for $2,500 to the members of Biker Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A) Calgary chapter. B.A.C.A exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. Check out more of what they do and donate today at https://canada.bacaworld.org/
Here's an amazing story that will make you smile! We've worked with Compassionate Resource Warehouse, a charity based in Victoria, BC, for years to supply them with containers to help them deliver a variety of donated goods and equipment to those in need around the world.
In 2020, there was devastating explosion at a shipping port in Beirut, Lebanon. The BigSteelBox container in this photo was on the dock in Beirut when the explosion occurred, and was found buried under the rubble one year later, completely intact with no damage!
This container was just delivered to its original destination at a Syrian refugee camp where people are still living in camps or unheated buildings. Inside the container is:
- Setup for a skill development school of hairdressing (chairs, sinks, etc)
- Set up for a skill development sewing school
- Set up for a skill development carpentry shop
- School supplies
- Orphanage bunk beds and bedding
- Lots of winter clothing, shoes, etc.
Thank you Compassionate Resource Warehouse for all the great work you do for so many in need! Learn more here: www.crwarehouse.ca
Another Habitat for Humanity Build Day is in the books!
Earlier this month, 12 BigSteelBox team members spent a day helping with the construction of a multi-unit building in NW Calgary. This site will soon be home for 82 deserving families!
Thank you Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta for having us out, and for all the great work you do every day.
Thankful to everyone who came out to support our annual food drive. Thanks to you, we were able to fill the BigSteelBox and raised over $7000 in cash and food donations for the The Salvation Army Kelowna .
Attention Langley and surrounding area! Donations of gently used furniture are currently being accepted for families in Lytton, White Rock and Monte Lake who have lost their homes to wildfires.
Donations can be dropped at 21729 56th Ave Langley - look for the BigSteelBox.
Most needed items needed are couches, love seats, tables and bedroom furniture.
THANK YOU to the Barker Family, Leigh Clayton and everyone at BC Disaster Relief Network for supporting the people of Lytton, White Rock and Monte Lake.
It’s official! Thanks to our amazing customers, we’re excited to announce that we met our fundraising goal and made a $50,000 cash donation to Habitat for Humanity Canada!
From May 1 - July 31, 2021, BigSteelBox donated $10 from every new rental to Habitat Canada, so THANK YOU to our customers for trusting us with your moving and storage needs, and in turn helping us support the construction of more Habitat homes for deserving families.

We love any opportunity to give back to our communities. We recently donated a container to St. Augustine School in Calgary to be used for their community fundraiser. They collected a large number of donations of clothing and supplies from students and families in the community which they were able to safely store in the container until they could be delivered to their local Value Village.
From May 1st to July 31st, we're donating $10 from every new rental to Habitat for Humanity Canada. By renting a BigSteelBox, you’re helping Habitat for Humanity provide local families with access to safe and affordable homeownership. Families like Jennifer’s, who explain the importance of partnerships like this in her own words: “Supporting Habitat for Humanity means changing lives and improving communities. A Habitat for Humanity home means security and permanency, which has led to an overall improvement of our wellbeing”.
We're committed to giving back to the community!
