Over the last several months the SPES conservation team, along with the help of some very dedicated volunteers, has set out at dusk and at dawn to monitor the beaver populations in Lost Lagoon and Beaver Lake. While the cold weather has slowed their activity of late, we estimate there to be 2-3 beavers sharing one lodge on Beaver Lake with another 3-5 beavers sharing 2 lodges in Lost Lagoon. The SPES team has been busy wrapping many mature willow trees along Lost Lagoon to save them from being eaten by the beavers. Thanks volunteers!
