Military Family Appreciation Day
Today, on Military Family Appreciation Day, we recognize the families who serve alongside members of the Canadian Armed Forces.Behind every serving member and veteran are spouses, partners, children, parents and caregivers who experience the realities of military life: long separations, frequent moves, missed milestones, uncertainty, caregiving and the lasting effects of service.
As veteran co-founders of Kadence Legacy Fund and a family shaped by military service, this recognition is deeply personal to us. Derek is a fourth-generation military member. Both of his parents served, and he spent part of his childhood growing up in Lahr, Germany.
Our lived experience also influences the work we do through KLF. We understand that the effects of service do not end with the individual. They are often carried by the entire family.
Today, we recognize the strength, sacrifice and resilience of Canada’s military families.
