These are just sketch drafts... soon, this story will come to life.
Our incredible illustrator, @Art By Gisele, is in the early planning stages of bringing our children's service dog book to life. This is more than a children's book. It is part of Kadence Legacy Fund's mission to educate, inspire, and build greater understanding of mental health, trauma, PTSD, and the life-changing impact of service dogs.
Inspired by a young girl named Kadence, who grew up in a military family and courageously faced a rare childhood cancer, this story follows the unconditional love and support of her service dog, Sadie.
Through their journey, we hope to help children and families understand that asking for help is a sign of strength. Whether someone is facing cancer, PTSD, trauma, or another life challenge, no one should have to face it alone.
At Kadence Legacy Fund, we believe education creates understanding, understanding builds compassion, and compassion helps remove the stigma surrounding mental health. This book is one way we hope to start those conversations early while showing how service dogs can change lives.
Our vision is to place this book in schools, libraries, children's hospitals, Military Family Resource Centres (MFRCs), and communities across Canada, ensuring it reaches the children and families who need it most.
đź’ś Sponsorship packages will be coming soon for businesses and organizations that believe in children's mental health, education, and supporting Veteran and military families. Together, we can bring this national educational project to communities across Canada.
One Dog. One Life.
