Sid Williams Theatre a key player in Comox Valley arts
The theatre scene in the Comox Valley is thriving and the Sid Williams Theatre plays a big part in that. The theatre puts on shows about 280 days of the year and rents the stage out to smaller theatre groups in the area. 50,000 people enjoy their shows each year! The Sid Williams Theatre Society fundraises throughout the year to meet costs not covered by government funding. They hold raffles, encourage member donations, garner support from local businesses, and facilitate legacy contributions.
Coastal Community has donated funds to the Superstar program and the Centre Stage series, made possible by our Sharing Our Success initiative. The Superstar program allows people who otherwise would not have the means to discover the wonderful world of theatre. The Centre Stage series involves special events that the theatre often co-presents with other community groups in the Comox Valley.
We celebrate the Sid Williams Theatre for contributing to a vibrant sense of community. Why not take in a show the next time you’re in Courtenay!
