We’re still celebrating!
We are continuously learning about our 2022 grantees, and we want to share them with you. Today we introduce you to the Gulf Islands Marine Rescue Society, recipient of a $9,025 grant for on-board crew communications equipment, through the Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union Community Endowment, housed with the First West Foundation.
Did you know The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 25 is a volunteer organization operated by the Gulf Islands Marine Rescue Society? The Society maintains a 24/7 marine search and rescue presence and capability in the Salt Spring Island vicinity.
With thanks to the Gulf Islands Marine Rescue Society (GIMRS) and RCMSAR34 Marine Rescue Society , “This project has enabled us to replace our present on-board communications system with very reliable and effective equipment so we can continue to conduct on the water life-saving and training activities safely and effectively.”
We proudly co-funded this initiative with the Salt Spring Island Foundation.
Thank you, Gulf Islands Marine Rescue Society, for the incredible work being done to keep the region safe.
