At Prince George Folkfest Society/Coldsnap Festival, we’re committed to supporting local communities and the people who live here. We actively support these causes in the community to help make a difference: Arts & Culture.

The Prince George Folkfest Society (PGFFS) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven society formed in 2003 to support an annual folk and roots summer music festival in Prince George. With the financial support of local businesses, the City of Prince George, provincial granting agencies, and an enthusiastic group of over 200 volunteers, the PGFFS put on its first summer music festival in 2004. The result was an extremely successful event that put Prince George on the national cultural map. Since then, PGFFS has produced 19 very successful music festivals: four summer festivals from 2004 to 2007 and 15 winter festivals from 2008 to 2022.

Our premier event, Coldsnap - the prince george winter music festival, takes place each year at the end of January or early February. PGFFS also stages several shows throughout the Prince George community throughout the year, such as a stage at the Community Arts Council’s Arts Bazaar, Kiwanis Alefest and a “Warm Up to Coldsnap” showcase in the early winter.

We couldn’t be prouder to work alongside businesses, volunteers, and other community organizations to strengthen local communities.
