Reflecting on an amazing year of #simplegenerosity in 2021, Phoenix Elementary School on Salt Spring Island was the recipient of a $5,000 Thriving Minds grant for their School Breakfast program.
With the grant, Phoenix Elementary was able to partner with two Salt Spring Island businesses, Embe Bakery and Barb’s Buns to ensure all 39 students have access to breakfast when they arrive at school each morning. Together, these local businesses provide a variety of daily breakfast items for students including muffins, bread, quiche and lentil and sausage rolls.
