TAKE A KID TO WORK DAY!
On Wednesday, November 3rd, Canada's longest-running, highest-profile career exploration event is back!
Every year, Grade 9 students across Canada participate by accompanying their parent or other adult to work for the day.
Here at Bellamy Homes we are hosting a grade 9 student, Dylan Foster, and will introduce a variety of topics during the day including house design, technology and business planning. We will also be exploring the different skilled trades involved in building a home.
With so many tradespeople set to retire over the next five years it is critical that we interest students now in a career in trades. Students in Grade 9 right now can be a two year apprentice in 5 years and make up for the predicted shortfall. While our student likely hasn't decided what he wants to do yet we hope that his time with us will give him some idea of what a career in construction may look like.
