Meet Jessica, our 1st Place Live Your Dream Award Winner 2021
Education is the pathway to economically empowering women and girls – when you educate a woman, you change a generation!

The Live Your Dream Education & Training Award is our Soroptimist signature program. This award financially supports women in our community who want to obtain the skills, training or education necessary to improve their employment status and standard of living for themselves and their family. This year SI Surrey/Delta provided three Live Your Dream cash awards totalling $10,000. The funds were the result of club fundraising (raffles and donations) as well as a BC Gaming Grant.
Jessica – Live Your Dream 1st Place Winner of $4,500.00: Jessica is supporting her mother Maria who receives a partial disability pension. Her brother and father are deceased. Jessica is currently employed as a veterinarian technician. She is working on her upgrading/pre-requisites for pharmacy at UBC to better support herself and her mother. Growing up, Jessica and her family struggled financially for many years. Jessica always had a positive outlook and often volunteering in her community.
Many of our award recipients have told us that one of the biggest changes in their lives stemmed from knowing that a strong community of successful women believed in them. Their stories need to be heard – their successes need to be celebrated!
