Earlier this year, the Oak Bay Volunteer Services Society was a recipient of a $10,000 First West Foundation Community Response Fund grant through the Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union Community Endowment connecting isolated seniors with a friendly face.
Today, June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. We love our seniors and encourage everyone to share their time and talents to provide awareness and prevention of #elderabuse. We are pleased to provide funding for senior's programs across our regions.
Additionally, Silver Threads Service received a $10,000 #First West Foundation Community Response Fund grant through the same community endowment as they continue to support Victoria seniors isolated at home with social connection through meal delivery.
