Kudos to Chris Waddell, Selina Powell and Jackie Dhut who are being recognized by Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union, for their leadership in the community through our Employee Lead Well Program. As part of this recognition they each received $500 to donate to the charity of their choice, they all happened to choose the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society. Cowichan Valley Hospice is currently in the process of building a new facility which will open up in the fall of 2020. It is just up the hill from our Administration office in Duncan and is a project long overdue for our community and one that is still in need of much ongoing financial support. The new facility, though still in development looks great and will provide seven new beds for the community and feature a lovely garden area which hospital beds can be rolled out into so that people can continue to enjoy nature in their final days. Thank you Selina, Chris and Jackie for making a long-lasting, positive impact in your community!
