Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union staff are thinking twice before hitting print and the savings are huge. More than 18 months ago Island Savings began a digital transformation across its organization encouraging staff to save paper by not printing unnecessarily. Since starting, six million pages have not been printed! To celebrate this milestone, Island Savings presented a $1,500 donation to Patricia Wells and a group of enthusiastic volunteers at Nanaimo Community Gardens Society. The donation, equivalent to about 30 fruit trees, signifies Island Savings’ commitment to going digital and supports its signature cause—The Full Cupboard—a community-based program raising food, funds and awareness for local food banks across Vancouver Island. #SnapSomeGood
