The money was raised through a staff organized curling event and book sale as well as ongoing community donations. With the Food Bank’s buying power of creating three meals from a single $1, the new money will help to generate more than 11,166 meals for those in need in the Lake Cowichan, Honeymoon Bay and Youbou area.
