Winning the $50,000 SimpleGenerosity grant from Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union means more children will receive a quilted blanket made especially for them. Lovingly created by volunteers, quilted blankets are sent to sick and terminally ill children, or children involved in a crisis. To date, Angel has sewn and shipped over 1,200 blankets and currently has 190 children on her wait list. Angel created her foundation at the age of 16 with the dream of wrapping every sick child up in a warm hug. Her blankets offer a soft, physical comfort, as well as a reassurance that the child is loved and cared for.
