Vote now for Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society by selecting an emoji below! Winning the $50,000 SimpleGenerosity grant from Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union will help establish a new initiative, the ‘Phoenix Newcomer Women’s Network’. The aim of the initiative is to provide an Embedded Community Support Coach to provide coaching, workshops, and networking opportunities to 150 newcomer women who are multi-barriered, disadvantaged, and/or marginalized that are in need of guidance and support. Unlike settlement workers and counsellors, the Community Support Coach will work with newcomer women to identify and set personal and professional goals, help them network with community members and other newcomer women in the community to build relationships and establish support networks, provide a safe space outside of the home to engage in workshops, etc. Thank you for helping us celebrate Canada150 and strengthening our communities with SimpleGenerosity!
