Stories of our community involvement
Wednesday afternoon 13 wonderful staff from Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union spent 2 hours volunteering at our vegetable plot at Helen's Acres. They weeded, harvested and washed produce, all with a smile on their face and a spring in their step! Thank you all so much for your hard work and for contributing once again to the mission of feeding the valley! With their help we were able to harvest 22 bins of produce!

Food Banks are coping with a significant and growing demand for food as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Members of the nine local Okanagan Rotary Clubs and the Kelowna Rotaract Club donated $116,300 to five area Food Banks. Funds will be directed to the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank, The Salvation Army Kelowna, the Peachland Food Bank, the West Kelowna Salvation Army and the Lake Country Food Bank. ThreePoint Capital rang the bells for The Salvation Army Kelowna annual kettle campaign last week. Ringing the bells has become a tradition for our team and we love being a part of this important initiative. Thank you for every donation, every dollar helps those in need in our community!
This year marked the 20th year of the Royal LePage Kelowna's Fill the Van for the Sally Ann. And once again the hearts of the Royal LePage Kelowna team shone thru as they collected over $34,000 in food and cash donations. Year after year this group stands in the cold on a cold December days to gather donations for those who need little extra help in life. This year reinforced the dedication of this team. As I went to each @Save On Foods location I met the volunteers I heard stories from many of them who's families had been impacted by the The Salvation Army Kelowna over the years. Some families had received toys at Christmas and others food hampers. All of them shared how in the midst of the hard The Salvation Army Kelowna had come to their families when they needed help with HOPE. I am so proud to work for the Salvation Army Kelonwa but equally as proud to live in such a giving and caring community! Thank you Royal LePage Kelowna, the companies that come alongside of you and our beautiful community for giving HOPE!
ThreePoint Capital is so proud to be a Sponsor of this great event:
Fill the Van for the Sally Ann Food Drive.
Marylyn Needham from team ThreePoint was there to help out.
Thank you to everyone that helped out The Salvation Army Kelowna
When our team learned that The Salvation Army Kelowna food bank was low on supplies, we organized an office food drive to help stock their shelves! They are still in need of staple products such as soup, cereal, canned vegetables & beans, pasta, & oatmeal. You can help too by dropping off these items at any Salvation Army location in Kelowna. #GivingHopeToday
Thank you Do Some Good! We have consistently attracted volunteers through your platform! Moms and college students looking for ways to give back as well as office workers looking for ideas to get out into nature and help in their community!
In the past two weeks our wonderful volunteers have harvested 57 rubbermaid bins of vegetables to donate to agencies such as: Central Okanagan Community Food Bank, Karis Support Society, Kelowna Women's Shelter, Freedom's Door, Kelowna's Gospel Mission, The Salvation Army Kelowna. This assorted vegetable bin went to the NOW Canada AG House to help nourish the women and children at this emergency center. Spreading the love one bin of veggies at a time!

Hi everyone!

In June, Scotia Wealth Management/Scotiabank will be hosting the 3rd annual End Summer Hunger campaign in conjunction the The Salvation Army Central Okanagan and Kelowna Save-on Foods. This campaign raises cash and food donations for community members in need. The past success of this event has allowed food shelves to remain filled throughout the summer. The massive success and growth of this event has been made possible through the generous members and businesses of the community. We are actively spreading the word of our goal for 2019... to beat last years record cash and food donation amount of $26,000.00 by raising $50,000 this year. If you or anyone you know might be interested in making this goal possible, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am available by phone (250-868-5513) or email (adam.dewar@scotiawealth.com).

I thank you kindly for you consideration,
Adam Dewar
The snow is still hanging around, but we are getting excited to start our vegetable gardens in about a month! We will be almost doubling our plot size in Kelowna and will need a lot of help from you amazing volunteers! We have received 5 applications in the past week through Do Some Good, so thank you! Our goal this year is to grow 25,000 pounds of fresh vegetables to feed families in the valley.
We will be supporting many local agencies such as Central Okanagan Community Food Bank, The Salvation Army Central Okanagan, Kelowna's Gospel Mission, Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs, Karis Support Society, Kelowna Women's Shelter, Freedom's Door, and many more.
We would like to send a huge thank you to two of our amazing and dedicated volunteers, Hiltrud and Julie (center photo) for your years of commitment and hard work! See you all soon in the dirt!
