Special Olympics BC’s mission is to provide individuals with intellectual disabilities opportunities to enrich their lives and celebrate personal achievement through positive sport experiences. We provide an introduction to sport and physical activity through programs that offer training and local competition as well as the opportunity to participate in high-performance competition. In addition to our 18 core sport programs that we offer year round, we also offer three youth programs for youth aged 2-18 and a health and fitness program.
We have 4400 athletes participating in sport programs in 57 communities across the province. These programs are made possible by over 3300 volunteers who dedicate their time to support our athletes in their communities!
