Social Mission
Our mission is to see communities have means of connecting with nature, through a network of human and nature parks and protected areas with connective corridors throughout the region. Where we can, we encourage and support places where humans and nature can co-exist such as well managed large free range ranches, sustainable forestry operations and eco-tourism activities.
Stories of our community involvement
Sierra Okanagan is partnering with the Students without Borders Association this fall to help high school students become aware of how urban development has affected the local natural systems in the Vernon area, and to create recommendations for local government bodies of how this area can be better environmentally managed. Through inspiring younger generations to connect with nature, they become invested and therefore see the need to protect it, for themselves and generations to come! If you have some time this fall to get involved, email us!
