Stories of our community involvement
All week long OKM students from School District No. 23 have been smashing, crashing and bashing a 95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme to raise money for Fort McMurray. From the initial idea to the final hammer smash, this event has been entirely driven by a group of OKM students who are working to be leaders for change.
OKM’s Leadership Team and Team Volinspire are raising money for Fort McMurray while also inspiring their peers to get involved in the community.
As a sponsor and supporter of Volinspire, Interior Savings has been involved in mentoring this group of students and has agreed to match all funds raised to support Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in Fort McMurray.

Our volunteers have logged over 70,000 hours that they've spent supporting more than 800 organizations! Here are a few of those amazing organizations that are currently using Volinspire: Enactus Okanagan College , Central Okanagan Food Policy Council, Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School, OGO Car Share, Hope for the Nations/Living Waters Secondary School Project, Inn From the Cold - Kelowna , Habitat for Humanity Okanagan, Okanagan Pride Society, School District No. 23
I know next week is National Volunteer Week and I'm sure there will be a lot of thank you's to volunteers, but I wanted to thank the organizations I have worked with for the great work they do! My warddrobe has increasingly become shirts from places I've volunteered where I've met lifelong friends, so a huge thanks to TEDxKelowna, Global Citizen Kelowna, okanagan changemakers, School District No. 23 and OYP - Okanagan Young Professionals !
