Stories of our community involvement
75 years ago yesterday- February 18th, 1946 - The Rotary Club of Salmon Arm was chartered. The Club has been continuously active in our community since then. We could never have done any of this without the support of individuals and businesses in our community. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting our fundraisers - like our annual Wine Festival, Casino Royale, Double Up Your Gift Campaign and - coming up soon - our Be Canadian Proud Flag Program, which you can sign up for by clicking the News Story in the left column of our Home Page.

You can read more about what we've been doing over the span of 75 years at our website - www.salmonarmrotary.org
In case you didn't see it in the Salmon Arm Observer, here is a picture Martha Wickett took on Christmas Day when three Salmon Arm Rotary Clubs, together with the First United Church and the Broadview Evangelical Free Church, served 640 Christmas dinners to residents who needed them. Most were picked up at the churches, but many were delivered to peoples' doors.
ROTARY IN SALMON ARM PARTNERS WITH LOCAL CHURCHES TO PROVIDE CHRISTMAS DINNERS!

All three Salmon Arm Rotary Clubs will partner with the First United Church and the Broadview Evangelical Free Church on Christmas Day this year to provide up to 600 dinners for people in our community. Click here to find out more - https://salmonarmrotary.org/event/christmas-din...
Thank you to Rotary Club of Salmon Arm for the good work you do, and for the difference we make together!
Our Rotary Canada Flag program was great this Labour Day weekend:

A group of us from the Salmon Arm Rotary Club got together today to install a sign at the picnic shelter in Salmon Arm's Blackburn Park. Our Club donated a significant amount of $$ to get this project up and running in the city park. The picnic shelter is already being used by community groups and individuals - even spatially distanced dance classes! The sign was designed by Joyce of "Signs by Choice." and she helped install.
Thanks to our incredibly generous Salmon Arm and Shuswap community, the Rotary Club of Salmon Arm was able to present cheques totalling $22,000 to the Safe Society and the Second Harvest Food Bank, each organization receiving $11,000. Our Past President, Christina Lutterman, presented cheques to Jane Shirley and staff at the Safe Society, and to Vahlleri Semeniuk and Cathy Ingebrigtson at Second Harvest. The Double Up Your Gift Campaign, where community individual donations were matched by our Club, was a huge success.
A while ago our Rotary Club helped fund Christina El Gazzar from Interior Health produce and install a communications board for non-verbal children. The communication board has been produced and installed in Blackburn Park in Salmon Arm.
The Salmon Arm Rotary Club has committed up to $10,000 to match community donations to the SAFE SOCIETY and SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK for a potential $20,000 donation to vulnerable families in our community. Campaign ends June 30. Simply visit www.salmonarmrotary.org to donate via PayPal. Care to share? Please SHARE. Thanks. Rotary Club of Salmon Arm
Here's how much Rotary appreciates our essential medical workers - a white heart designed and made by members Patrick and Colleen, and set up outside the Shuswap Lake General Hospital at the suggestion of Fiona and Ross.
