Stories of our community involvement
Did you treat your significant other to a Harvest at Home dinner made by Revelstoke Local Food Initiative this past Saturday? If so, you may have noticed a free Hungry Toque Cookbook came with each package! This was a combined donated value between Josh (the head chef & book brain child) , the LFI & the Revelstoke Review, a total of $1190! The dinner was also delicious to boot! #buildstrongcommunities
Well today is a good day! We gave our friends over at Revelstoke Local Food Initiative $$1585 for the first round of the Hungry Toque cookbook sales! Looking forward to handing over another one of these cheques in the near future!
Revelstoke Cycling Association is excited to join Do Some Good and we look forward to sharing our stoke for biking with the community! Check out our first ever Cycle For Solstice day, an event we're putting on in collaboration with Protect Our Winters Canada and Go By Bike BC. This summer solstice we're encouraging you get out on your townies for a day of climate change action AND pedal-powered transportation celebration. 🚴‍♀️

Tomorrow, on June 20, let's ride our bikes as much as possible in place of using vehicles. Whether running errands in town, pedaling out to trail heads, or just getting from Point A to B, choosing to ride bikes instead of driving is a great way to take action against climate change.

ALSO don't forget to drop by our booth at the Revelstoke Local Food Initiative Farmer's Market down at Centennial Park, from 9am - 1 pm, where you can enter your name for a draw prize for biking to the market. The The Twisted Berry will also be on site offering their delicious Frozen Yoghurt BY DONATION (cash + card accepted) with all proceeds going to the Revelstoke Cycling Association. Can't make it to the market? You can also win prizes by sharing photos and videos of your ride by tagging #cycleforsolstice and @bikerevelstoke

Prizes provided by Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Flowt Bikes & Skis, DOSE Coffee, and the Revelstoke Sugar Shack.

Thank you to the Columbia Basin Trust and the City of Revelstoke, BC for making the Community Initiative Program a possibility this year. Instead of a public hearing, the community can now support projects through Online Public Input.

Click the link below to read through this years proposed projects (including our ‘Food School’) and support as many projects as you’d like. In times like these, reading through the initiatives from this community is sure to put a smile on your face 😊 Thank you for your continued support, it makes all the difference!
