Extra Information

We count on volunteers to stretch our cents into dollars, and to help us provide extra services to meet peoples needs wherever they are at in their journey through life.

About us

PREP Community Programs empowers positive change for those in our community who face barriers such as poverty, unemployment, at-risk pregnancy, racism, and illiteracy by offering relief, support, and access to resources. We are a non-profit community services organization providing free community-based, need-driven programs and public services including employment services, immigrant services, harm reduction, literacy programs, and family and child development programs. PREP is also a lead agency in developing and coordinating strategies for promoting diversity, increasing food security and reducing poverty in our region.

What we believe in

We provide support and advocacy for people in Powell River who are in transition, who are marginalized, and/or are in need of additional community resources. Our programs are designed to address the current and emerging needs of individuals and families across all demographics. Our goal is to give support when needed while building capacity for independence and self-advocacy as appropriate.
