Stories of our community involvement
Thank you Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union...
We have been the beneficiary of several grants from Valley First which have enabled us to provide uninterrupted service to seniors and housebound individuals in our community. Susan Byrom , the Executive Director followed this financial assistance with her "Acts of Kindness" enlisting some of her friends and colleagues in providing cheerful notes and cards for many of our clients. She personally created beautiful book marks as well for them. We received a number of calls from clients expressing their appreciation and enjoyment of these gifts. Susan, you and your employer have truly demonstrated the heart of our community. Thank you. Marion Bremner, Manager Meals on Wheels.
Meals on Wheels
Great News, Meals on Wheels was helped by a donation from the Westside Elks 592. The check is being presented to the Meals on Wheels Board of Directors.
This sweet Meals on Wheels recipient was brought to tears when her volunteer driver gave her an early Christmas present of a new winter jacket yesterday. Rhonda was in need of a winter jacket and said she would never receive a present like this for Christmas as she had no family in town. She was so excited to have something brand new that wasn't a hand-me-down. Lifting others up is the spirit of GivingTuesday.
