Being part of Landed Learning @ School is rewarding for both students and volunteers. Volunteers report that the experience of caring for the garden side by side with children, and then preparing and eating the bounty together, is a great way to share knowledge and skills, have fun and help to build community - all at the same time!

Social Mission
Landed Learning @ School is part of Powell River School District's Food Literacy Program. The mission of the Food Literacy Program is to empower students with the knowledge and skills to make good food choices for themselves, their community and the environment. This includes supporting schools to conduct a range of food literacy programs, centred around using school gardens as outdoor classrooms.
