Stories of our community involvement
Our team was all smiles at the Gateway of Hope annual Christmas meal! Thanks to the volunteers that joined us from Living Waters Church and the dedicated volunteers at Gateway for helping to make the holidays a little brighter for our community!
Thanks to our friends at Heart and Stroke Foundation, our staff and community partners from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley and Gateway of Hope are receiving CPR & AED training today so they can help make a difference any day, anywhere!
Thanks to Gateway of Hope for hosting the Thanksgiving Community Meal for Langley! Kay Gandham, Kenneth D'Sena, Nancy Housley, Amy Wilson, Nicole Kaye and Eli Noorzay were so thrilled to lend a helping hand for our community during Make a Difference Days.
Jason Brown and Crystal Zhuang spent the morning at Gateway of Hope, slicing and dicing in preparation for the Thanksgiving Community Meal tomorrow. What an awesome way to make a difference in our community! #MakeADifferenceDays
We get excited about volunteering in our community so much so we launched a new Community Crew program in July. This group of five energetic and enthusiastic high school seniors and university students attended 20 community events across the Fraser Valley and volunteered with local non-profit agencies every week. The combination of volunteerism and work experience makes this Community Crew stand out! Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union partnered our Community Crew with Alexandra Neighbourhood House, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, Gateway of Hope, Sources Community Resource Centres, and the Surrey Arts Centre. How did the team describe their experience--“this was the best summer job I could ever imagine!”.
