The department has 16 100% volunteer firefighters most of whom have completed their BC Standardized Firefighter Training and have been issued their certificates from the BC Fire Training Officers Association. In addition there is a team of auxiliary members (called to help out during a fire) and dispatchers who take and manage the calls from 911.

Social Mission
Our purpose is to protect people and properties from the threat of fire, and help residents and visitors in the event of an accident or other medical emergency.
The Erris fire protection district is a 20km stretch of Princeton Summerland Rd. starting at 12km and going to 32 km
The Erris Fire Dept. is dispatched via Kelowna 911 to structure fires, grass fires, chimney fires, car fires, motor vehicle accidents, power line incidences, flooding emergencies and medical emergencies
