Social Mission
During this pandemic, so many of you have stepped up to help your neighbors and your community. However, it can be difficult to find the information you need in one central location amid all the communications flooding your feeds. With access to numerous community organizations, Do Some Good is creating a way for Community and Organizations to connect in order to find ways of supporting each other.

It's National Volunteer Week and we'll celebrate every day this week starting with our virtual volunteers. A special shout out to Jeanne Legua, our current virtual volunteer for helping us with social media and virtual communications. Jeanne was our summer student last year and continued to work with us into the fall. She is just finishing up her degree virtually at UBC and generously offered to help us out while doing her schooling from home. Thanks for showing your #locallove Jeanne! NOTE: photo taken last fall!

This pandemic has impacted all of us, including those who are vulnerable within our community. Many of us want to help in any way we can, but the question is HOW? Our very own Jeff Hoffart hosted a webinar last week to help community members find ways to help nonprofits.

In this presentation we covered:
- How to share good stories that feed into local media
- How to find volunteer opportunities, including virtual positions that can be done from home
- How to support nonprofits aside from volunteering
- How to support local businesses

If you’re looking for ways to support the essential services nonprofits provide, jump on and have a look. Do Some Good has access to hundreds of nonprofits on our platform and we’re fortunate to be able to provide a way for them to connect with the community!

Hey Nonprofits and Community Groups! If you missed it, I had the pleasure of hosting a webinar with Amy Gopal that focuses on how Do Some Good can be used to support your programs and engage the community, including the ability to recruit virtual volunteers and easily conduct outreach. #CommunityNeeds
