Last night was RCU's AGM, highlighted by the distribution of the Community Giving donations. $53,000 was awarded for regular program support to the Revelstoke groups and organizations that strive to make life better here Another $47,000 went to support capital projects that a few of these groups have initiated. It was great to see everyone out, thank you for all your hard work, it reminds us all how proud we are to be Revelstoke's Community Partner. Revelstoke Child Care Society , City of Revelstoke - Parks, Recreation & Culture, Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society, The Revelstoke Women's Shelter Society, Revelstoke Community Response Network, Revelstoke Minor Hockey Association (RMHA)
Sutton Place Hotel at Revelstoke Mountain Resort is hosting a Christmas Tree Pageant in support of the Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society. Ballots are $5 with all funds being donated to support the Food Bank. Your donation gets you entered into a draw for some great prizes too. So, next time you are out, head to the Sutton Lobby and vote for the Revelstoke Credit Union tree and you may even win an amazing prize!
Revelstoke Credit Union sent two teams of volunteers into the streets of Revelstoke for the annual Emergency Services Food Drive. This is the single most important food drive of the year for Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society Food Bank, in both raising awareness and stocking shelves. Last year, with the help of 300+ volunteers, the Emergency Services food drive was able to collect over 12,000 lbs of food and thousands of dollars in cash donations.
Shopping for the Community netted over 100lbs of food and $50 cash for the Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society Food Bank over the past two weeks. Kaitlynn Schneble and Jamie Hobgood are pictured below on their way with the proceeds.
Revelstoke Credit Union is back again this Summer, shopping for the Community as a way of helping the Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society Food Bank. Help us fill the shopping carts in the lobbies of RCU and RCU Insurance and get the shelves at the Food Bank filled. Come by Friday afternoon for a free bag of popcorn with your food bank donation and have a friendly visit with our wonderful staff.
