Canadian Cancer Society Lodges provide a supportive environment for people with cancer and their adult companions.  Become a shuttle van driver for the Victoria Lodge and you will have an essential role in creating a home away from home for the clients and their families. It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and that means it's time for a test drive at Kelowna Toyota - because for every new Toyota that's taken for a test drive during the month of October, we'll donate $25 to breast cancer research! Even if you're not interested in test driving a new vehicle, you can still show your support by donating directly to the Canadian Cancer Society - Kelowna! For more information on this initiative visit https://www.kelownatoyota.com/drive-pink/
Shout out to rhys spencer! Rhys is being recognized by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union for his leadership in the community through our employee Lead Well program. To top it off, he received a $500 donation to a charity of his choice! Rhys chose to direct the donation to Ride2Survive, a one-day cycling event from Kelowna to Delta to raise funds for cancer research as an independent fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society. Here’s why Rhys is supporting the team; “When I moved to Penticton in the summer of 2013, one of the locals Bruce Schoenne welcomed me with open arms. He was a real influencer and connector to help build my new home life in Penticton and was a champion of local business; as well as, a long-time member and supporter of Valley First. Bruce did Ride2Survive many times and was a real champion of the event. Sadly, he passed in 2018 after a short fight with cancer himself. His wife Lynn and many friends are riding in his honour this year.”
Thank you for your commitment to community, Rhys!
We are excited to welcome Kelowna Toyota to our #GoodCompanyClub! Did you know they are currently donating $25 for every test drive during the month of October to the Canadian Cancer Society to support breast cancer research? Way to go Kelowna Toyota! Excited to have you join the club!
It’s hard not to be inspired by stories of youth helping youth. It was last summer when we were moved by the heartwarming story of Kaitlyn Bernard, a youth actress who selflessly gave $15,000 of her own earnings to start Just Breathe, a fund benefiting Camp Goodtimes from the Canadian Cancer Society. To support her efforts, we surprised her with $50,000 to help further her goal of helping kids be kids.
Kaitlyn made big impact with these funds over the past year. Read her story: https://bit.ly/2xuVwrY Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union
Our friends at Canadian Cancer Society are looking for volunteers at Camp Goodtimes - be inspired this summer and help create an unforgettable experience for children and youth diagnosed with cancer and their families. Learn more and apply; http://www.campgoodtimes.org/volunteer
