Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) Event Committee Members

Community Event Date: March 31, 2025 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Time Commitment:
Committee Meetings: Participation in at least two virtual committee meetings (approximately 2 hours each), held in the evenings.
About the Event:
The Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an annual celebration dedicated to honoring the resilience and contributions of trans and gender-diverse individuals while raising awareness about the discrimination and challenges faced by the community. This event in Kelowna will focus on fostering inclusivity, education, and celebration through engaging programming, meaningful partnerships, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Role Description:
As a member of the TDOV Event Committee, you will play a key role in planning, organizing, and executing this important event. Working collaboratively with other committee members, you will help create an inspiring and memorable experience for all attendees.
Responsibilities:
Assist in brainstorming and developing the event theme and run of show, including speakers, performances, and activities. Identify potential event sponsors and community partners to secure support and resources for the event.
Help promote the event within local and online communities to ensure strong attendance and participation.
Attend and contribute to at least two virtual committee meetings to ensure smooth planning and execution. Optionally you may also wish to volunteer at the event.
Preference will be given to applicants who identify as trans or gender diverse.
This volunteer position has no scheduling requirements attached to it. You can work out your availability and time commitment directly with the organizer.
