The Rotary Centre for the Arts is seeking applications from creative and diverse youth from around Kelowna and West Kelowna to join our Youth Arts Council. Designed for students ages 13 - 18 who are looking for both a creative outlet and an opportunity to help their community, the council will help shape youth presence in the Kelowna arts scene in 2021 and into the future.
The council will meet at the RCA monthly from 3:30 to 5 PM to organize projects and events, brainstorm ideas for implementing youth programming, plan fundraisers, and hang out (snacks provided). Additional meetings may be required as the council approaches important deadlines.
What will teens do as a Youth Arts Council member?
-Organize art-related events, programs, and projects in Kelowna.
-Meet new people and learn from leaders at the RCA and in the arts community.
-Learn from mentors in the art community.
-Share your ideas about RCA art class offerings, performances, and youth events -- have your voice heard!
-Develop leadership and teamwork skills, which are integral to shaping your future communities.
-Gain volunteer hours and experiences you can add to your resume.
