Media & Outreach Coordinator

Your social and people skills can help us reach the world!

Every single person you and I know has experienced something tragic. A death of a loved one, an illness, bullying, domestic violence…something. In 2009, 472,000 sexual assaults were reported to the police by the victim. It’s estimated that over 90% of all sexual assaults in Canada are not reported to police. The Voices of Victory Project is a volunteer-run advocacy and education society, geared towards shifting the conversation around sexual violence in Canada. We provide an online forum for survivors to #BeUnsilenced and share their experiences and access local resources to support them in their journey from victim to survivor.
Volunteers are the heart of the VOV Project. Without the contribution of the skills, experience, time, and effort of our volunteers, the VOV Project cannot continue the critically important work of education and advocacy for survivors of sexual violence.
The Media & Outreach Coordinator is responsible for maintaining relationships with the press and like-minded organizations, coordinating press releases and press statements on behalf of the organization, maintaining an accurate and complete press and partnership list, and generally providing the liaison between the organization, media, partner organizations, and within the VOV Project Public Relations Department. The Media & Outreach Coordinator is also responsible for executing on media campaigns including print or broadcast media campaigns. The Media & Outreach Coordinator reports to the Chair of the Board and may receive direction from any Board members.
