Emergency Management Teams across Canada are looking for volunteers to be a part of their mission. Because of our wide-reaching network of highly trained volunteers, Canadians who have found themselves impacted by disaster big and small, are able to turn to the Canadian Red Cross for relief and support.
As a volunteer in this role, you will:
Respond to alerts to support local and provincial responses, in-person or virtually, needs dependent.
Fully assess those impacted by the emergency to evaluate their needs immediately following the event; complete documentation and ensure the appropriate supports are provided, such as shelter, food, comfort.
Support the recovery of impacted individuals by providing referrals to partner agencies and other community-based assistance.
Through the course of your work as an ESS volunteer, you will not only assist during times of a smaller disaster and emergency, but you will also help people to be better prepared, better connected, and more resilient when emergencies happen.
