Kelowna & District SHARE Society has been around for over 40 years working to address the many needs of those in our community who are in transition. This transition can be defined as someone who is a newcomer to Canada and has to start from the beginning, or a person who is being released from a treatment program or prison and needs to reintegrate into their community, a youth at risk who needs to learn new skills, a person with a disability who is on a journey of self-discovery and self-realization, or a simply single mom who needs to make her dollar stretch to the end of the month.
Currently, SHARE Society is looking for caring, committed, community-minded individuals who would bring diversity of thought and perspective to the table and who could offer some level of expertise in areas such as social media, grant writing, networking, and community partnership building. Being that SHARE operates a thrift store, some knowledge of retail sales would be an asset. A commitment of up to 10 hours a month would be welcomed, which would include 2 hours for attendance at monthly board meetings. Some committee work would be required, on an ad hoc basis.
