Ovarian Cancer Canada is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to support the 2024 Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope in Vancouver on Sunday, September 8th. This annual event is the most powerful event of its kind in the country and is the only walk in Canada to direct all attention and fundraising towards helping people with ovarian cancer and those at risk to live fuller, better, longer lives. As the exclusive walk in Canada dedicated to directing all attention and fundraising efforts towards helping people with and at risk of ovarian cancer. We stand hand-in-hand with those experiencing, affected by, or at risk of the disease, tirelessly working until women can live freely, fully, and uninhibited by ovarian cancer. The Walk is family friendly event taking place in communities large and small across Canada and virtually. This event rallies communities together to support those who have been affected by ovarian cancer and make a difference.
Forming a Volunteer Planning Committee is essential to this event, and we need your help! Working together with Ovarian Cancer Canada, committee members will have an important role in designing, planning, and hosting the Walk locally. This opportunity is perfectly suited for dedicated individuals who enjoy planning events, want to further their leadership skills, and love meeting new people. Roles and responsibilities of the planning committee include:
• Building local relationships by securing sponsorships and in-kind donations;
• Supporting local event logistics (equipment rental, food & beverage, entertainment;
• Using social media to build excitement in your community;
• Leading on-site activations (accepting donations, completing registrations, ensuring participants know where and how to get involved)
Let’s work together to enact meaningful change and help women everywhere. Together, we can help create a future where ovarian cancer is preventable, curable, and ultimately eradicated.

This volunteer position has no scheduling requirements attached to it. You can work out your availability and time commitment directly with the organizer.
