The Friends of the Hope Library was formed in 2006. It is the organization that provides the most enthusiastic support for the Hope, BC branch of the Fraser Valley Regional Library. Particpation and membership numbers demonstrate to the community and elected representatives that the library matters and is a valued investment and service. Friends help by - Maintaining an association of persons interested in the library - Assisting the library in promoting and improving its service to the community - Encouraging gifts, endowments and donations to the library - Raising awareness with local politicians and other community members by focusing public attention on the library - Initiating fundraising activities. The major of these are The Great Big Annual Book Sale (November) and the Annual Quiz Night (March). Funds raised go towards library materials and library "extras" as well as the promotion of literacy within the community.
