What people are saying about us
Ian MalcolmFlagstaff Scottish Club

We are the Flagstaff Scottish Club and our mission is to promote Scottish culture, customs and values in and around the Flagstaff region. We have initiated the fledgling Battle River Pipes and Drums. The Wild Rose Coop has been a huge supporter of us since the beginning in 2008. They have always contributed to our fundraising efforts. They care that our goals are met and feel ours is an important cause in the area. Many worthwhile causes would disappear if it weren't for the Wild Rose Coop. Thank you! Truly!

Thank you to Flagstaff Victim Services for the shout-out, we love being a part of the communities we serve!

Charity checkstop was such a huge success this year! Thank you so much to all of you that stopped to say hello, or to donate to our 3 worthy causes❤
A HUGE HUGE thank you goes out to our local Wildrose Co-op!! They called us here at VSU and asked if they could donate food for the day for our volunteers! Shelly and Kelly went to pick it up Saturday morning, and they had a big tray of individually wrapped sandwiches, bags of chips and water!!! It was awesome!! Thank you so so much Co-op!!!!!! What a beautiful thing to do!!!
Santa stopped by and stayed for a few hours! It was a pretty big treat for all the kids in the vehicles that stopped. I couldn't quit smiling as I saw those wee ones' faces light right up!
We really do have the very best people and volunteers that spent the day with us! Our advocates here at VSU, Killam fire, EMS, Flagstaff County Emergency Services, and the Peace Officer, the Flagstaff Food Bank, and Wetaskiwin Traffic Unit even came down for a few hours! Our own local boys from the RCMP were there too as long as they could before they got called out.❤

Wild Rose Co-op Impact Follow Up

What need has your organization addressed in the community due to Wild Rose Co-operative Association Ltd. support?

The Flagstaff Scottish Club hosted its third "Gathering of the Clans Highland Festival" on August 21st, 2021. This is a cultural event pertaining to all things Scottish. There were three Bagpipe bands, Highland dancers, athletes demonstrating the heavy events, local artisans, Highland cows, a petting zoo, gifted performers, live owl demonstration and numerous other activates for the entire family including a pig roast and ceilidh. The event was held at the Wild Rose Recreation Center in Sedgewick Alberta. The Wild Rose Coop has been a huge supporter of this popular festival since its inception. Their donation made this event rise to the high standers it has become. Guests from all around our province were aware of the community support provided by Wild Rose. The Coop assisted in ever aspect of this day. They supplied water to volunteers, equipment to the infrastructure, gifts to the dignitaries, food for the supper and mix for drinks. Without the Wild Rose Coop, this event may not occur. We want to thank the Wild Rose Coop for their gracious and generous support of our event. It brings cultural awareness to the area.
